Belgacem Sabri is a Tunisian public health professional with over 35 years of national and international experience in his home country and WHO EMRO. As WHO regional adviser in health policy and health care financing and subsequently as director of health systems development he promoted primary health care, social determinants of health and universal coverage. After the revolution in Tunisia in 2011, Dr Sabri founded, together with other public health activists, the Tunisian Association for defending the right to health, which in 2013 became a member of the People’s Health Movement network. Dr Sabri has earned MD, a Master’s in Public Administration and a Master’s in Economics and was associated in several research activities related to health equity and right to health.
