Lucy Gilson

Lucy Gilson is professor both at the University of Cape Town and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Over her career, her research has been driven by concern for equity in health and health care. It has involved conceptual and empirical work on issues of health care financing, organization, management and policy change. She has played a leading role in developing the field of health policy analysis, and currently manages a continental initiative to strengthen training in this field. She is committed to the development of health policy and systems research as an innovative, applied and interdisciplinary field, at the cutting edge of health systems and societal development.
