Fernando Ruiz Gomez is the Deputy Minister of Health of Colombia. He attended medical school in his country and holds a master’s degree in Economics from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia) and a master’s in Public Health and Occupational Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently a PhD candidate in Public Health at the National Institute of Public Health in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Prior to his work at the Ministry of Health, Dr Ruiz was Director of the Center of Development Projects (CENDEX). He has published mainly research papers on health economics, health inequalities and public health systems.
