Adjunct Professor of Global Health and Population, Harvard School of Public Health, USA
Gita Sen is Adjunct Professor of Global Health and Population, Harvard School of Public Health, following her position as Professor of Public Policy at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore until 2013. She is widely known for combining academic work on health, gender and development with policy advocacy and activism, for which she has received a number of awards and honours. She held many key positions, including Co-coordinator of the Women and Gender Equity Knowledge Network for WHO’s Commission of the Social Determinants of Health and Member of the Millennium Project’s Taskforce on Gender Equality, amongst others. She is a prolific author and editor, her most recent book being Gender Equity in Health: the Shifting Frontiers of Evidence and Action (Routledge, 2010).
